I grew up with Spanish as my first language. In Spanish, when you share a name with someone, you simply call them "tocaya/o." My name is so common that Tocaya was a natural fit as a stage name. (If you must know, it's Teresa, but my friends call me "T".) I'm a cultural anthropologist by training and have spent much of my life exploring Latin America. The sounds you hear in my sets reflect my love of nature, diverse cultures, and some of the languages I speak, including Spanish, Portuguese, French, and even Quechua, the language of the Incas.
